Support the Music You Love
At Dearborn Symphony, we believe live music belongs to everyone. While the artistry happens on stage, our mission is entirely fueled by the passion, time, and generosity of people like you. Whether you choose to share your time, your talents, or a financial gift, you play a vital role in keeping our community vibrant and connected.
Volunteer Your Time
Our volunteers are the face of Dearborn Symphony, helping us create a welcoming atmosphere from the moment our guests arrive. We offer several flexible ways to get involved based on your schedule and interests.
Performance Night Ambassadors
Become a vital part of the concert experience. Ambassadors welcome patrons in the lobby, hand out programs, assist with ticketing questions, and help guide guests through the theater before the performance and during intermission. It is the perfect role for anyone who loves meeting new people.
Office and Administrative Support
If you prefer behind-the-scenes work, join us at our administrative offices during the week. Volunteers assist our small staff with essential projects like preparing mailings, organizing materials, and helping with general office operations.
Special Events
Throughout the year, Dearborn Symphony hosts community gatherings, receptions, and special fundraisers. Volunteers help these events run smoothly by assisting with setup, greeting guests, and managing registration tables.
Give With Purpose
Every financial contribution directly impacts our ability to share high-caliber music and educational programs. When you give to Dearborn Symphony, you can direct your support to the area closest to your heart.
- Chair Sponsorship: Form a meaningful connection with our orchestra by sponsoring a single musician for the season. You can choose to sponsor a Principal Chair with a gift of $750 or more, or a Section Chair with a gift of $500 or more. For details on available chairs, please contact James Clements, Executive Director, at jclements@dearbornsymphony.org.
- Send a Child to the Symphony: A gift of just $10 funds a seat for a local student to attend our annual Children’s Concert. Held each spring, this program welcomes all fourth-grade students from Dearborn Public Schools, introducing over 1,600 young people to the magic of live orchestral music.
- Young Artist Enrichment: Support our educational initiatives, providing coaching and unique mentorship opportunities for young musicians in Dearborn Public Schools.
- Youth Artists Solo Competition: This annual event awards a $500 prize and the unique opportunity to perform live on stage with the orchestra. Beyond the prizes, the rigorous audition and adjudication process provides invaluable feedback and growth for dedicated music students across Southeast Michigan.
- The Music Library: Help us build and maintain the physical sheet music required for our concerts. A single symphonic score can cost hundreds of dollars to purchase or rent, and your gift directly funds the acquisition, licensing, and careful preservation of the masterworks and modern pieces performed by our musicians.
- Endowment Fund & Planned Giving: Invest in our long-term health by contributing to our permanent endowment fund. You can also explore Planned Giving options to include Dearborn Symphony in your estate planning, ensuring that live symphonic music remains a vital cultural pillar for generations to come.
