Journey beyond Earth with Gustav Holst’s The Planets, one of the most celebrated works in the orchestral repertoire. Inspired by the astrological character of each planet, Holst’s seven-movement suite has captivated audiences for more than a century with its vivid orchestration, powerful themes, and extraordinary imagination. From the relentless energy of “Mars” to the serene beauty of “Venus” and the mystery of “Neptune,” each movement invites listeners into a remarkable musical world.

This season finale pairs Holst’s masterpiece with breathtaking imagery produced by NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, creating a multimedia experience that explores our solar system through the combined power of music and science. As the orchestra performs live, stunning high-definition visuals reveal the beauty, mystery, and grandeur of the planets, bringing the universe to life in a memorable conclusion to Dearborn Symphony’s 65th season.
