In 2024, the scholarship program was reinvented as a group clinic program using musicians from the Dearborn Symphony.<\/p>\n
The Education Committee provids string instruction at middle schools in Dearborn. One of the three Dearborn Symphony musicians wisit each <\/span>school to provide small group instruction. <\/span><\/p>\n Over one hundred students benefit from this program each year. These sessions were under the direction of the school’s band teachers.<\/span><\/p>\n One band teacher commented, \u201c……..hearing professional musicians perform and talk about their experiences giving small group lessons and sectionals with technique and knowledge specific to individual instruments was hugely beneficial. All three clinicians were helpful, flexible, and fun to work with.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The board of directors looks forward to continuing this program for years to come.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Generous contributions from The Frank & Mary Padzieski Trust, the Dearborn Orchestral Society Endowment Fund, the Friends of the Dearborn Symphony, Dearborn Heights Rotary, Fairlane Sunrise Rotary, Kiwanis Club of Dearborn, Kiwanis Dearborn Outer Drive, the Cherry Hill Consort, the Exchange Club, the American Association of University Women Dearborn Branch, and individual contributions from Robert & Marge Bryer, Ms. Carolyn Carr, William & Janet Leslie and Dr. Donovan & Anne Bakalyar make these clinics possible. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
